Automated home value (AVM) tools are designed to give an estimate of a city's or a home's value. The widget below is designed for values on the city-level, and is based on information gathered from public data such as tax records. Please note it leads to a 3rd party site.
AVM tools are best used when searching for general trends or estimates. No AVM tool accurately estimates the specific value of a home (although a tool for specific addresses will be provided on this site in the future when it is completed) because estimated prices may be based on properties not currently on the market and sales in the tax records some of which are not recorded on the Realtor multiple listing services, and, lastly, such estimations are unable to account for specific differences in properties such as custom upgrades, or lack thereof.
